Privacy notice.
Who we are.
This notice explains how Sockar Limited ("Sockar", "we", "us") handles personal information when you visit sockar.online, send us a brief, or play a game we operate.
For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Sockar Limited is the data controller for information collected through this website. We are a company registered in England & Wales, with our registered office in London.
What we collect.
We try to collect as little as possible. In practice that means:
When you send a brief
- The name, email, company, role and message you put into the contact form.
- Anything you choose to send by reply (attachments, decks, references, sketches).
When you visit the site
- Standard hosting logs from Vercel — IP address, user agent, request URL, timestamp — kept briefly for security and rate-limiting.
- Anonymous, aggregated traffic figures (page, country, referrer). No cross-site tracking. No third-party advertising pixels.
We do not buy personal data. We do not enrich what you give us with information bought from elsewhere.
Why we collect it.
- To reply to you. If you write to us, we use your details to answer and — when it fits — scope a project together. Lawful basis: legitimate interest, or performance of a contract once one is in place.
- To keep the site standing up. Hosting logs help us detect abuse and fix performance issues. Lawful basis: legitimate interest.
- To learn what people actually read. Aggregate analytics tell us which pages are useful. Lawful basis: legitimate interest, in a form that does not identify you.
How long we keep it.
- Project briefs that don't lead anywhere are deleted within 24 months.
- Contracted client records are kept for 7 years for tax purposes, as required under UK accounting rules.
- Request logs are rotated out within 30 days.
Your rights.
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask us to:
- Confirm what we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete what we hold, where we don't need it for a legal reason.
- Restrict or object to specific processing.
- Receive what we hold in a portable, machine-readable format.
Write to contact@sockar.online and we will respond within one month. If you think we have got something wrong, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Terms of use.
By using this site you agree it is provided as a portfolio and contact point for Sockar Limited. We make no guarantees about uptime, content, or fitness for any particular purpose. Anything we publish here is opinion and observation, not advice.
The trade marks, logos and written content on this site belong to Sockar Limited. Please don't reproduce them without asking — we will almost always say yes if you ask first.
Changes to this notice.
We will update this page when the way we handle information meaningfully changes. The date at the top tells you when it last moved. If a change affects what you've already shared with us, we'll let you know by email.
